Yamini the moment u decide the renovation of a house the first thigs to be done is a proper planning... wherein the process would be as follows :
1. Decide first what is the layout you need of the house...
That is do u need to knock off some wall or merge 2 rooms or just keep the lay out as is but u need the look in some specific manner...
2. Where do u need more lights or where u need some specific setting of some cupboard, wall units...etc..
3. Check whereall you have a leakage issues & find out solutions to rectify the same.
4. Then start ur break downs if needed... & then as per your plans make your electrical switch board placements & your electrical sockets & some extra spaces where u may have the possibility of some electrical points in the near future... Then the initial base wirings to be done which are going to be sealed later on...
THIS is the time when you get your plumbing work also done simultaneously as here some people make a plan of the kind of bathroom & kitchen set ups they need as here the electrical points have to made keeping in mind water outlets...
5. After you do that then you start with every room individually... First u need to do wall cements & finish. Not the paintings... That will the last finishing part of your house. Here again the plumbing works are finished.
6. Before painting get the floor tiles done... After proper finishing of the floors cover the floors with jute sacks... Do not use newspaper as most of them leave their ink on the floor & to clean that the workers use acid which is harmful for them as well as to some of the floors & then that can lead to colour variation in tiles. So avoid.
7. Whenever you take up the rooms You should first do your bedrooms... then the kitchen & then the bathrooms... Bathrooms should be last.
8. Also ensure every tiling work whether floor or walls should be done before painting the house.
9. Now when only painting work is left...you get a pretty good idea about the house & it's set up... So plan our photo frames & wall paintings or anything that you may need to hang on the walls... Use small nails. Mark the walls & get the nails fixed.
10. After that the final work of paintings happen. Do not remove the sacks from the floors as that will help the paints not spoiling the floor.
WE NORMALLY LOSE OUR PATIENCE HERE... SO THIS IS THE TIME WE HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF PATIENCE & DON'T HURRY...
PAINTING is the final finishing of the house. Choose the right colours Which you should have planned at the time of planning in the very beginning as it based on that you decide on the lights to be put.
11. Once the painting is done... Remove all the materials & equipments from the house & do the final cleaning... The floor sacks have to removed next... After this get proper cleaning liquids & get the house cleaned & NOW it is ready for your use...
NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT YOU HAVE TO PLAN KEEPING IN MIND AFTER THIS RENOVATION WHEN WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO DO ANOTHER RENOVATION... SO YOUR PLANNING HAS TO BE SUCH THAT WHATEVER ELECTRICAL SET UPS YOU MAKE IT HAS TO LAST YOU FOR THOSE MANY YEARS...
PLANNING IS A VERY CRUCIAL... SO TAKE GUIDANCE OF SOME PROFESSIONAL INTERIOR PERSON FOR THESE PLANNINGS.... They not only plan things but also understand your taste & accordingly suggest... If you have a financial issue to pay to an interior person then you yourself get into some research from books & internet... Visit done up homes so that you get an idea of how lights are used in every house... Go during the day as well as the night so that you can understand the effects of lights...
